Ooop's missin out the g again... anyway the colour of the rocks in the FG have not been altered that's what caught my eye on such a dull grey evenin. So dull that I had to do some test shots to check the camera was focusin correctly and not kaput... yes things were that bad.
So bad I had given up and was heading home, but for some reason had stopped to check out a location... when ta-da he sun popped through and the rocks caught my eye... just saved the night and no more!
This is the second bigger waterfall I found it took longer to post than I thought! Time where does it go!? This one is so off the beaten track apart form a farmer or two I might be the only one that knows where this one is :)
Another angle from Glen Etive I didn't like this shot to begin with but am growing to like it especially the clouds scudding across the mountains further up into Glencoe. Hard to believe but it was drizzling a wee bit in this shot and I have had to clone out two or three spots off rain that landed on the lens.
heading out in the wind and rain... kneeling down on one knee... with one leaking wellie in a burn.... what no one else does that!
a return to the first waterfall after and during a day or twa of rain
Guess what not sure again.... I'm so predictable :) I'll probably leave it like this for a wee bit and try another edit in a few weeks time it will be interesting to see how it develops... or not.
Somewhere about here at the lower falls Glen Nevis there is a hidden dinosaur I wonder if he will be there the next time we visit hmmmmmmmm??
These the cleg bites are terrible :)Until now to get a shot off a waterfall I would have had to travel at least thirty forty miles, there are none locally apart from the wee six footer I have posted before.... until now! Although having lived in the area all my life I had never heard tell of any waterfalls! I however was determined there must be and went in search of said on Sunday and found one wooohooo! It was no easy task let me tell you! A mile cross country through bog, grass to your waist, under gorse bushes, bracken to your shoulders, evading man eating sheep and so on. It might not be much of a waterfall to you but it does me. I have two shots one colour one black and white which is strange! Donnie suggested my Glen Etive shot would look good in B&W something I had not considered (I'll do it soon) so why before his suggestion did it strike my to do a B&W version of this and not the Etive shot? I no know :) Anyway here they are
oh and the good news is so determined was I I went looking again today and found another even bigger but you will have to wait for that one :)
The first thing you notice while trying to shoot in Glencoe is you need a wider lens (hence portrait shot) I doubt however they make a wide enough lens to do the coe justice. I would also have preferred a better composition but it was raining slightly coupled with the lens and time constraints this just has to do..... for now :)
At the end off the tunnel? Could there be an unnoticed (by me) style coming out of my shots? That's not to say I like what I see, but a semblance of a style. One I did not know about creeping out... except by chance. While monkeying about with the camera I set it to shoot RAW+jpeg and forgot to reset RAW only.
Anyway I went out looking for something to shoot and nothing! The light was terrible and so on... or so I though. I even argued with myself if it was worth getting the camera out the bag things looked so unappealing!! On a whim I gave into that nagging voice saying "auch you might as-well" I set up, fired off a couple of shots and thanks to the camera not having the dynamic range of the eye I liked what I saw on the lcd screen and continued. I'll now keep this very short as it could go on and on...... but it's nearly 1am and I shouldn't be writing as I'll make a bigger mess of it than usual!
Strangely it was the colour in the jpeg I really liked but when it came to editing it I could do nothing with it... it was crap. However the edit off the RAW file I much preferred which is strange when it was the jpeg that initially drew my eye, caught my attention, the colours made me go wow! Now in the final version there is only fine hint off the colour that wowed me in the first place and I can't see what I liked about the Jpeg in the first place go figure???
ps hope this late night drivel makes sense to someone :)))) good niZZZZZ
