An Ayrshire Dawn or should

that be An Ayrshire Donnie :) I've looked at this abandoned house for years from a distance. Eventually just before Christmas I ventured up to it while on route to check out if I could incorporate an old hill fort into a composition of the Firth of Clyde. Anyways it was not quite as grandiose as I remember it looking but worth a shot. I'll still return to take the shot I'm after when I can get the right conditions, with another larger hill fort also in the pipeline.

Low

Not the image I'd planned for this post but hey. I've noticed for some reason since the acquisition of the DSLR I've not been quite as adventurous with my shots. A combination of getting used to the camera and not taking any risks. This should probably have been done before but at last I have cannibalised an old tripod central column so that I can swap it over when required and get back to some low angles again.... still can't see me taking any risky shots though!!

Keep it simple

For some reason I liked the wee blob of ice with air bubbles incorporated clinging to the twig in the river. A 30sec exposure, possibly could have been better but for various reasons (now remedied)I could not get close to it. Also at less than an inch from the surface 30secs is a hell of a long time when you don't want the water to wash over. So whether a lower angle would have helped who knows!

Having read the comments of those of importance, I am able to kill two birds with the one stone as I mentioned in my reply. So it should make the extra editing worthwhile to keep posting here :) Sorry for the lack of words but I'm still getting over the lurgi MAN-FLU

That said just posting has made me hesitate. So if this is the last post thanks for all your support I'll still visit!!!! if not the last hey sorry for wasting your time! swither swither swither

December Dawn

Strangely I had just finished editing this shot of the sunrise today, both in colour and B&W before I visited other blogs (mark). I did the usual colour edit but thought it might also look good in B&W on a different aesthetic level, coupled with the fact it might be slightly unexpected to do a bright sunrise in B&W? I to say I think I prefer the B&W, B&W in general has it's claws into me now for some reason!
